JULY BULLETIN 2010

Auto-transportation industry: Positive results continue at the beginning of the second semester.
-In July, total production increases 38.6%, wholesales 36.8% and exports, 28.0%. -

Production:

• During the first month of the second part of the year, the figure corresponding to total assembly was of 7,110 units, 1,981 more than in the same month of 2009.
• This difference in percentual terms means a 38.6% increase.
• The accumulated production for the 7 months lapsed adds up to 47,411 auto-transportation vehicles, that is to say, 79.1% higher than the same period of last year.

Domestic Market:

• July reported a growth of 36.8% versus the same month of last year.
• With respect to the volume of sales corresponding to the seventh month of 2010, we commercialized 2,570 units, that is to say, 691 more than during the month of July, 2009.
• With respect to the cumulative, we have wholesales in the domestic market of 15,274 auto-transportation vehicles, which means an increase of 38.8% when comparing it with the period between January and July of last year. In absolute numbers it represents 4,271 more units.

Exports:

• The shipment of this kind of units to other markets during the month of July was of 4,916 units, therefore representing a 28.0% increase in comparison with the same month of last year (when 3,840 were shipped).
• When quantifying the seven months lapsed as to the export of auto-transportation units, it gives us a figure of 34,979 vehicles, which represents 15,785 higher than the volume shipped during the same period in 2009; this way the actual growth is of 82,2%.
• Of the total exports at the seventh month of 2010, 89.2% has been destined to the United States of America.

Production:

As we mentioned before, the assembly of auto-transportation units reached the figure of 7,110 vehicles during the month of July, this way for the third consecutive month, the volume of 7 thousand units is exceeded, this way strengthening a significant growth towards the recovery of this variable.

Regarding the cumulative, we have a production of 47,411 units, showing a growth of 79.1% which without any doubt is very important for manufacturing companies operating in our country.  This means an assembly higher than 20,945 vehicles with respect to the same cumulative achieved last year.

The following were the results obtained for the period between January and July from broadening the coverage of the figures we have at a segment level:

Trucks grows 43.9%; with the same trend, truck tractors grows 130.3%; construction registers a 307.4% increase and foreign buses 5.7%.  The only segment that registers a fall back is the passenger chassis segment where we have a reduction of 3.4%.

With this trend, and it if stays that way for the rest of the year, closing with a production close to 80 thousand units is plausible.  We hope for it to be so.

Domestic Market:

Even if it is true that July’s wholesale is still higher than the same moth of last year, as it has been occurring, more evidently, as of the month of April, it is also evident that it is still very far from the best months of sales of the sector, such as in 2008, specifically.

Wholesales during the month of July increased to 2,570 units, meaning a 36.8% increase with respect to the same month of the previous year.  Regardless of these percentually high increases which we have registered during recent months, they do not represent more than a small part of the recovery, the foregoing, as it may be assumed from the seriousness of the fall during 2009.

With respect to the accumulated figure, we have the sale of 15,274 auto-transportation vehicles, a 38.8% growth, in other terms, 4,721 vehicles above the volume quantified for the same seven months of last year.

Let’s see the sales trend by segments:  Trucks registers a 47.4% increase; fifth wheel truck tractors, an increase of 129.7%; construction shows an increase of 168.4% and foreign buses grows 18.1%. The same as in production, the only segment that shows a fall back is the passenger chassis segment, which is located within the 19.6% level.

Without any doubt, the recovery of this variable, as we have already mentioned, will not occur this year and hardly even during 2011.  It is more likely to occur until 2012.  This is our opinion given the current conditions.

Exports:

Finally, the exports variable, we have the shipment of 4,916 vehicles during the month of July (actually, it is very similar to the figure obtained in the month of May when exports added up to 4,918), which represents an increase of 28.0% with respect to the volume obtained in the same month of last year.  This way supremacy with respect to the monthly volumes obtained during the same months of previous years is maintained.

At a segment level, we observed the following behaviors in the cumulative:  Trucks, with an increase of 19.6%; Passenger chassis grows 336.4%; fifth wheel truck tractors increases its exports’ volumes in 123.9%; the construction segment reports a 263.6% growth and foreign buses is 15.0% higher. This way all Concepts within the classification grow.

According to the trend reported up to this date, the year may close with an exports’ volume close to the 60 thousand units.  We also trust that this occurs.
